Gibraltar is truly a very small territory, but still incredibly interesting. I was particularly fascinated by the fact that it lies in the south of Spain yet belongs to the United Kingdom.

I visited Gibraltar by car. To even get into the territory I first had to drive across the airport runway — which was a very unusual experience for me.
There are two ways to visit the famous Rock: either by cable car or on foot to the summit. I chose to walk up. The path is not particularly difficult and the view from the top is truly breathtaking — you can see both the Mediterranean and the Atlantic, and in good weather even the coast of Africa.
What I particularly enjoyed there were the monkeys — the so-called Barbary macaques. Although they look cute and friendly, they can also be dangerous, especially if you have food or a water bottle with you. So you need to be very careful, otherwise you will quickly lose your snack. Overall I would really recommend a visit to Gibraltar to everyone.
