Barcelona

Barcelona

Visiting Barcelona had long been a dream of mine. At the time I could not yet speak Spanish, so I had to communicate in English almost always — but that only made the trip more interesting.

First Impressions

The Location by the Sea Makes All the Difference

What I particularly liked about Barcelona from the start was its location right by the sea. This allowed me to spend a lot of time on the beach and simply enjoy the atmosphere. The city was lively, the people friendly — and I found it interesting that those who spoke English well had usually spent some time abroad.

La Sagrada Família and the City

Sagrada Família
Gaudí, Museums and Seven Unforgettable Days

I was particularly impressed by Antoni Gaudí's cathedral — La Sagrada Família. This building is truly unique and fascinated me greatly. The architecture is like nothing else you will see in Europe. Besides the Sagrada Família there are also many interesting museums that are well worth visiting. The food, the culture, and the street life impressed me greatly. In total I spent seven days in Barcelona — and enjoyed every single one of them.
