I visited Jordan with a friend. We started in the south of the country in the city of Aqaba. From there we traveled north, as we wanted to visit Petra — one of the seven wonders of the world. We were very much looking forward to it.

The people in Jordan were incredibly kind and hospitable. When we arrived in Petra, for example, the people from our hotel invited us for a meal. We had not expected that at all.
The next day we visited Petra. The place is enormous — you can easily spend a whole day there without getting bored. The nature and architecture were breathtaking. In the surrounding area we could also see camels, which was something completely different from life in Central Europe.

After Petra we continued to the Wadi Rum desert. This desert is covered with red sand and looks almost surreal. We booked a tour to properly explore the desert. At the end we also went on a camel ride, which was also a very special experience.
